Susan Fox founded Balance Restored – Center for Integrative Medicine in 2001 with the vision that a “round table” of conventional and complementary medical practitioners work in service of our patients. Together with the team of acupuncturists, bodyworkers, psychologists and nutritionists at Balance Restored, Susan works with M.D.s and health care providers of many specialties, including Obstetrics & Gynecology, Endocrinology and Reproductive Endocrinology, Neurology and Chronic Pain Management, Psychiatry & Psychology, Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy, and Nutrition.
With a focus on reproductive health, Susan is a Fellow of and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine She is an affiliate of The Fertile Soul™ and The Fertile Soul Clinical Excellence in Fertility Professionals™ which programs promote health of body, mind, and spirit using Taoist, traditional Chinese, and modern therapies.
Susan serves on the Advisory Board of the California Institute of Integral Studies’ Integrative Health Program and is a professional member in the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Pacific Coast Reproductive Society, RESOLVE, Fertile Hope, OpenPath and the NorCalFertility Group of acupuncturists specializing in oriental reproductive medicine.
Susan earned her Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in Berkeley, California, and is licensed in California and nationally as an acupuncturist and herbalist.
Laura is a a Certified Professional ATMAT (The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Technique™) Practitioner, as well as a Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Massage Therapist, Hatha Yoga Instructor and Certified Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner. The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy ™ are centered around ancient Mayan techniques of repositioning organs that have dropped, thereby restoring the flow of blood, lymph, nerve & energy.
Laura has a profound passion for women’s wellness, having apprenticed with Doctors’ of Naturopathic Medicine, Physical Medicine, and Acupuncture. She dedicates her practice to all issues related to female reproductive health and fertility, using Maya Abdominal Therapy.
Laura’s has traveled and lived around the world studying with great healers, shamans and teachers of medicine. In addition to her extensive training in The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy™, her patients receive the benefits of her experience and training in Hatha Yoga, holistic health counseling, and massage therapy, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine.
Laura’s quest for wholeness has inspired a life’s passion and love for alternative medicine. She believes in the body’s inherent healing capacity by bringing into balance the physical and spiritual aspects of life.
