Karen Reynolds started her medical career by obtaining a bachelor degree in nursing and specializing in critical care within six months of graduation.

She further specialized in cardiac intensive care, which required skills in advanced cardiac life support, split second decision-making, as well as emotional support for critically ill patients and their families.

After 12 years in allopathic medicine, Karen developed several minor illnesses, which responded poorly to conventional medical treatment but healed following treatment with Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and the study of Martial Arts. It was then that she was personally inspired to pursue the study of Oriental Medicine.

She is a graduate of Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in Berkeley, California and is licensed both nationally as a Diplomat of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAAOM) and in the state of California as Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. After obtaining her licenses, she continued in advanced practice studies with such venerated master practitioners as Michael Turk, L.Ac. of Chico, CA and Dr. Miki Shima, OMD of Corte Madera, CA.

Professionally she has served on the California State Oriental Medicine Association (CSOMA) board and currently serves on the national American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) board. She has been a contributing author and editor for the California Journal of Oriental Medicine. She lectures nationally and currently serves in local non-profit organizations assisting women back to the work force following drug abuse and homelessness.  Karen is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and serves on the Advisory Board for RESOLVE-the National Infertility Association.

Currently Karen specializes in male and female fertility, functional endocrinology, and the treatment of chronic pain. Her work in these specialties enhances some of the most immutable aspects in human life: creation in life and living it with joy.

Karen is an avid reader, yogini, and researcher. She states, “Learning is a life long pursuit both with respect to enriching our lives but also in providing the best patient care. The realm of possibilities is endless, infinite and exciting. The human body and the spirit residing in it is ever wise and not to be underestimated.”
