Willie Victor, a Nutrition Educator and Consultant, has been involved in many facets of health care for over 30 years. She graduated from American River College as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and is a licensed Respiratory Therapist. She also graduated from Bauman College, a California State Licensed Institute, as a Certified Nutrition Educator and Consultant. She has worked with adults, infants, and children in acute, emergency care, and rehabilitation as a therapist. She now works with children and adults as a counselor for those seeking a dietary program to improve or heal an illness or just lead a healthier lifestyle. Although she really enjoys her work in a hospital setting, she found that the patients are seldom given “individual” counseling in nutrition. Considering that every person is a bio-individual, she feels that a dietary program must be designed to suit that individual’s needs and lifestyle.
In 1990 she partnered with an Endocrinologist and was the owner and educator of Healthy Image, a medically supervised and food program. She was a Teacher’s Assistant in the nutrition program at Bauman College for four years. She now has her own consulting practice, Essentials for Health. Her experience with clients and her continued education has increased her understanding of health issues and given her a holistic, whole food background that is scientifically based.
Willie can educate her clients to use a customized diet of whole foods, choose supplements and make lifestyle changes that will improve their health. She uses functional tests, and food allergy and sensitivity testing. With these nutritional tools she tailors a program for each individual client. Her specialized areas are:
- Adult and children diabetes and diabetic related diseases
- Children with learning disabilities and nutritional related problems
- Adults and children with allergies and asthma
- Adults and children with gastrointestinal health problems
- Adults with high cholesterol and other heart related diseases
- Adult and children obesity and weight management
Willie ultimately, “helps her clients to help themselves” obtain optimum health. She is a full time coach and supports her clients through the changes they will make. She will work together with the client’s physician on dietary recommendations, and attempt to minimize or eliminate the need for medications.
